Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone! I'm up on the Isle of Lewis at the moment, spending Christmas with my sister & family. The main advantage to this is that my nephew is eleven, so I get to play with all the cool presents he gets....the lightsabre is very cool, and I got him a remote control hovercraft. Brilliant stuff! Hope you're all having fun and eating and drinking to excess...

Season's greetings! Just back from the in-laws at Portrush where (as well as a fantastic time) we've had an almost internet free week. Claire's dad is on wannado dial-up and the service has become atrocious - impossible to read yahoo email for instance. Apparently some of his friends have noticed the same deterioration in quality on their connections - I suspect the big ISPs are deliberately allowing their dial up service to degrade in order to push people toward broadband. Unfortunately in the case of Claire's Dad it's pushed him in the direction of not using the internet.

Not sure that I missed the web all that much, however (though I did resort to reading the BBC headlines off my mobile phone in the pub the night before last).

Yes, happy christmas and new year to all Fitzrovians. Stayed with my family in Oxford and then had various in-law events. Feeling bloated and also dispiritingly empty, as is often the way with gross over consumption

Yes, belated happy christmasses and new years. I was at my folks' house, where Tesco dial-up was similarly woeful, so I had to give up tinternet too. I did play with some of my nephews' toys, though.
