Climate scepticism - on the rise!?

God this is depressing. There are dozens of reasons for this: a scientifically ignorant population, a hopeless and incompetent media, insufficient leadership from government, the ability of lobbyists and business interests to spread confusion, and a nation of people that just don't want to face up to truths that at best will require big changes in their lifestyle and, at worse, are terrifying. What the hell is to be done?

I blame Top Gear.

How about starting a campaign that names and shames famous people's carbon footprints? The only way to capture people's attention these days is to get celebs involved. Preferably naked.

I don't know - I was at the launch of the 10:10 campaign and lots of celebs there, but in a way I think that just fuels suspicions that it's some kind of media/govt conspiracy. Not that celebs shouldn't do support these campaigns - we need as many as possible, it's just that the resistance seems to be so tragically entrenched. I can't see the majority of people waking up to the disaster until London is flooded. By which time, it will all be too late.
