I seem to remember that space invaders and pac man were supposed to produce a generation of gambling addicts, thieves and delinquents. Or that collar-length hair on men in the sixties was going to bring down civilization. We're hovering on dangerously fogeyish territory here.
i must say i've got quite uneasy about some of the more realistically violent 3d games - tasteless entertainment at best i think. and of course the US army is uses video games of this type as a recruiting tool...
Don't argue by misleading analogies, but by evidence and logic! Just because old fogeys disapprove of flowery hippies and fast food doesn't mean that they are the same thing.
Brutalized kids trained on hyper-real battleground video games, who are now armed to the teeth in Humvees, and watching Iraqi civilians through VDUs is not a good thing!
as you say, not a good thing. mind you the british have just as violent video games and probably as nasty fast food as the americans but our army's approach to the whole iraq thing has benefited from being a lot less gung ho...

Great stuff. The Generation Kill thing is fascinatingly awful. Video games, fast food and heavy metal are producing a generation of psychopaths.
