Good stuff, though Scots in London moaning about Scotland's lack of optimism is only going to get us so far. We need our best and brightest to get back there. Over to you John....

Actually, I don't always buy this 'national trait' stuff. Too often, politicians and policy wonks go around saying that the key to success is hope, confidence, optimism, an entrepreneurial spirit etc.
This is just a way of sounding concerned without doing anything about it. Actually, what Scotland needs a total re-structuring of the UK economy, so that London and SE of England stops sucking jobs, graduates and business from everywhere else. However, can't see anyone really grappling with this one.
