Hang on, this came up on Slashdot on my RSS reader, but the story's nearly 2 years old...

This seems a bit uncool. Many people leave their wifi connection deliberately unprotected, so that others can make use of it.
I guess the problem arises if people access your wireless network and use your internet connection (and thus IP address) for illegal activities.
