Is it just me...
Like the title of this book, although I fear it could be one of those wacky stocking fillers they always bring out at this time of year.

Great concept - as you say, the book itself may not be as good. It's published by Time Warner, so I suspect it might be disappointingly bland and mainstream.
Had a flick through it in a bookshop yesterday, and it confirmed what I thought. The list of entries are excellent (Alain de Botton etc), but the actual write-ups aren't actually that perceptive or funny.
Yes, I did too. As you say, the choice of targets pretty good, but disappointingly executed. A missed opportunity - probably an under-edited rush job. The Idler bunch might have made a good job of it.
