I know everyone here knows about
this stuff, but i'm finding the whole thing profoundly fucking depressing at the moment. Think i'm having the "most depressing day of the year" 1 day late. Maybe technology will save us (Bill Gates take on it - he's more concerned with biological terrorism).

We're all doomed. This stuff is gathering momentum - time to start a doomsday cult. Hope Bill Gates spends his entire personal fortune on R&D on these issues. I for one will not be buying a flat in the Thames Gateway flood plain. In fact, investing in hill-top Scottish properties with good local drainage might be a good idea. Joking aside, there will be people conjuring schemes to make money out of possible disaster. But you're right, it is depressing, and I find it hard to read too much of it.
