Belfast City Airport to be renamed in honour of George Best

Don't quite know what to make of this, seems a bit odd - I think I like straightforward geographical names for my airports. Belfast City Airport is nice btw - views across to the great Samson and Goliath cranes at Harland and Wolff...

I suppose it's nice for them to be able to refer to themselves as "The Best Airport". Probably an ad campaign in there somewhere...

Yes, call me prosaic but I'm not sure about this new trend - Liverpool's Lennon airport is another. Belfast City Airport seemed to work fine, and an alcoholic wife beater is hardly the kind of figure you'd want to associate with safe air travel.
